Kingdom Work

We think it’s important to share what God has been doing through Boise Christian Homes. This page will get periodic updates whenever something exciting for God’s kingdom has happened.

We love to serve the kingdom of God and hope that these updates bring joy and hope to you. There are a lot of unfortunate circumstances in our current generation, but God is still in control, and He can still bring peace that surpasses all understanding.

 

Our partnership with Bed Bath & Beyond has provided us with many blankets, pillows, bedding sets, and all sorts of home goods. This has not only benefitted residents, but also multiple local women and children’s centers.

Valentines for Vets was a huge success. Well over a hundred cards were created by residents and delivered to local veterans. The recipients were shown appreciation and love for their service.

 

We sponsored five at-risk children through the Shop with a Sheriff event. It’s an annual event held by the Ada County Sheriff Employees’ Association. Their goal is to take local disadvantaged children for a special day of shopping.

We’re working on getting a couple of hospital beds that we have in storage sent out to serve abroad. Hands of Hope is the local partner we are working with.

We want everyone to know how good God is and how much He is using local organizations to bless people. Donations

Your tax-deductible donation will help provide meals, rent, and supplies for residents at the Boise Christian Retirement Village. It also helps cover operational costs and all of our outreach initiatives. We seek wisdom from God to be good stewards of everything He provides.

Give Appreciated Stock

Why pay Capital Gains taxes on selling stock, leaving you just a portion of its value to spend?
 

  • When transferred directly to BCH, all of the capital gains taxes are eliminated for outright stock gifts.  Those who itemize can also claim the stock’s full value as a charitable deduction.  In turn, BCH pays no taxes to sell it, and our programs then benefit from its full value.

  • Stocks can also fund a Life Income Gift, such as a charitable gift annuity.  Please contact us for an illustration of the benefits you could receive and for special transfer instructions.

IRA Rollover Gifts

Thanks to legislation enacted in 2015, you may be able to transfer a charitable distribution from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to charity.  Now that so few Americans can itemize to claim charitable gifts, this is one of your few opportunities to give and still save on taxes. 

  • You must be 70 ½ years old or older.

  • Your gift counts towards your required minimum distribution but is not included in your taxable income.

  • Your IRA administrator must make the distribution directly to the charity.

  • You can also name IRA funds to BCH through a simple change of beneficiary form.  IRA funds left to non-spouse heirs are heavily taxed.

Real Estate Gifts

Contact Boise Christian Homes to initiate a real estate gift such as a second home. You can also leave real estate to BCH through your estate plan.*

* All funds donated will be considered funds to Boise Christian Homes, Inc., and will be allocated under the direction of the Board.
